Although this piece is beautifully crafted and hand painted, I'm not all that sure if it was made recently. It is painted in soft muted pastel colours but predominately a very light blue. The signature on base is B. Woods in gold. Regardless I wanted to share. Hope you like it.

It's likely that this was painted by B Woods as a hobby ceramic painter.
It was very popular post war until about the 90s and in Australia was generally done on either English or Japanese porcelain blanks.
I think they were very accomplished - this is painted so beautifully.

racer4four, it's a wonder to me that people could paint so expertly as a hobby. I have a teabag holder that I think was handpainted, and I have seen many of them online that are beautifully painted.

Thanks for that information racer4four and nice comments. It didn't seem to have an aged feel about it but I agree the artist has done a beautiful job and I love it.
