Another thrift shop find! Less than $5.00. She is GORGEOUS. There is a handwritten date of 4.3.50. I only found one other one on the net, on eBay. She is about 8 1/2" high.

      She really is gorgeous.
I think Russian porcelain is a whole new world of collecting - there doesn't seem a lot about in the West but it is great stuff.

racer4four - I have not seen that much of it here as of late, at least not like this gorgeous piece.

Efesgirl,I'm afraid it is not a date but letter C ( in russian alphabet) which means "Cena" = price. The price is 3,50 (hryvna)
It can't be so old beacause in 1950 Ukraine as a state didn't exist. It's been an independent state since 1991.

@ Ivonne I wonder what the 4.3.50 written in magic marker on the bottom is for...I had looked at other sites which listed this as vintage, but since I don't know poopy about Ukrainian ceramics or what the marks mean, I decided to put her up here. Thanks for clearing that up. I often sell much of what I buy at the flea markets and second hand shops, but I am besotted by this figurine. I think I will keep her for awhile yet.

Efesgirl,I looked up in the net a bit and there are some finds:
Kiev experimental ceramic art manufactory was established in 1924 in Vishnyeva n.Kiev
      It's renowed manufactory.
The mark on your piece comes from 1970-1980.
There are sites devoted to its production but in Russian
Try to type "kievskij experimentalnyj keramiko chudozestvennyj zavod" and you'll find sites about it.Perhaps there's any in English version.

Ivonne - and here I thought you were just trying to get my attention (lol). I deleted the extras. I am very happy to hear that she is older than suspected. Thank you so much for the links, I will go see what's there.
