Here is one of my favorite signs. I am sorry about the pictures. The sign is mounted on a wall in a staircase and it was impossible to get a full shot of it. It is for Litening Gasolene. It's a huge diecut cowboy hat. From what I've been told is Lightening was a small Montana Company and only sold gas in Montana, Wyoming and SouthDakota in the 30's and 40's. They were bought out by Esso. Sign is about 5' wide and 3' high
Lightening Gas stuff is rare and hard to find.

OMG ... I am insanely jealous of your Litening Gas sign. My grandfather owned the Litening Gas Station franchise in Bozeman, Montana! We have no petroliana from the station, but we have lots of pics of the building and trucks.
Wow, could you post some of your photos? Lightening stuff is so rare. I don't think they ever produced that fancy porcelain sign stuff, they relied on local sign painters to produce these handpainted signs. Almost fall into the folk art category.
