Love the color combination of jade green and black. I also like fan vases and have several made by different glass companies.

Nice example Frank. The green with the pulled feather décor is quite uncommon for this shape. Great find!!

I think you will find if you look at numerous examples of this shape that they vary a little from example to example. The same can be seen on Welz scalloped fans and other Czech fan examples. Much of the manipulation of similar fan vases is by hand and I think differences are to be expected.

It was recently claimed that a green pulled feather example in this forum was "indubitably" Rindskopf, even though it bore a "Czechoslovakia" mark that has never been associated with Rindskopf production. To me at least, this shape in this décor would cast a large cloud of doubt over that claim. I personally believe that completely ignoring most provenance marks and discounting them as having nothing to do with manufacturing houses is a mistake.

This is certainly an extremely interesting example indicating pretty convincingly houses other than Rindskopf produced pulled feather décors.

I agree, but am of the belief that as our desire to increase out knowledge progresses, it is best to err on the side of caution. Some seem to believe that this region and era of glass can not be identified and have chosen to clump it together as "export glass". I am of the belief that a percentage of it can be accurately identified, but not if we ignore "information" in front of us and simply accept the status quo as being the only answers.

New information and knowledge comes from new questions....... and new questions in some cases confirm old findings.... but in some cases reveal new ones....

I am of the firm belief the knowledge we seek only results from the "search".... not from accepting without question what we ourselves, or others have previously "found".

I am always amazed at what we now know about Welz after onl 8 ears of research. This has happened with the generous help of collectors, researchers, Welz family members, and other everyday people around the world. Had the "Status Quo", as put forth by recognized experts simply been accepted and not questioned, we would not know what we now know. Well deserved recognition for a distinctive line of glass would have potentially been lost to time.

It is for this reason that I now question everything I do... I feel obligated to do so.

Hi Loetzbubbles. Simply stunning. The nicest fan I've seen.
