So here is one of m latest finds. It's a writing desk(don't know the other word for a desk like this). It's lockable but missing the key so i'll have to figure out if I can find one that will work. It has the manufactures name on it but I have googled until my fingers bled(exageration-well not so much) and i cant find anything on LESKAY or the los angeles woodworking co. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. thanks. sidetone the tape was a bad idea(not mine) and it took some of the color off of the wood.

      Hi cburtt,

Nope not a trace. I don't know where else to look. I was hoping someone here would have an idea. I do love the desk. Definitely need the/a key otherwise it flops down. :-) and tape takes off the finish-even scotch tape.

That's just crazy. I have a beautiful table with their label and can't find any type of reference for a value on it. I'm sure they made more than two things! If I come up with anything i'll let you know :-)

A quick online search yielded a few utilitarian pieces and were dated by the seller or poster as 1930- 40s:

      Your label is the same.

The style of label and type of pieces linked would make think that the pieces may be as late as 1960s.

My wife and I inherited a table, 2 chairs and 2 benches made by the Leskay company. They were sent to us from my wife's grandmother that lived in Florida. We figured that they must be from the 1930's since her mother remembered them from her childhood. I have been trying to find information about the set as well. It is really unique looking, almost American Gothic in it's style. I"m afraid it has seen better days and we would like to find a new home for the five pieces that someone would be interested in restoring it back to it's original grandeur. The legs on all the pieces are similar to the above writing desk and the finish is very dark. It has a small leaf and the total length is about 5 feet. The manufacture's sticker is still on the table which is why I know who made it.

Hi. My grandfather owned the L. A. Woodworking company between the late 20s and mid 30s. The family has many of his pieces. I have never seen a label, though, so this is interesting!
