I really like this rough old sign for some reason? It seems like yesterday the U.S. royal tires were one of the main tire choices when I was replacing tires on my car. We got this sign along with a smal 7600 gas pump sign for $20 and I like the condition its in. Like me, it shows signs that it has spent time out in the sun and weather as well as having a few scars from life's abuses. I don't expect to get through life without some signs of wear and tear and this old sign shows some indications that it has seen a few Rodeos itself. It looks pretty good just leaning up against some old visible pumps in the aaaLakeside Storage Free Museum while we look for a permenant home for it. This sign came Came from the rancher/farmer that has the Dukes of Hazzard daughter with the short shorts, cowboy boots and big tattoo on her thigh. It's wild hunting signs out here in the West! Keep on hunting.

Exactly my feelings! The rougher signs make the collection look real & remind us of the many years it took to get that rough. The real fun is in the hunting & finding anyway. This sign has a real story to it. It was in the bed of our PU between the cab and the tail gate. Next to the tailgate was an old Hit and Miss stationary engine that was not tied down. As we traveled across a Cherokee Indian reservation my son spotted a great sign on an abandoned Service Station and yelled for me to stop!!! I slammed on the brakes and as I did the Hit and Miss came rolling across the Tire sign and wedged against the front corner of the bed of the truck! Yikes!! Good thing it isn't porcelain. It didn't seem to do any visible damage to the old sign but sure did give us a scare as it happened. The engine must weigh close to 300# so it's no trivial thing to stomp a sign. That's the rest of the story I didn't get around to telling.
