So this pretty little glass bowl is a mystery to me. I did see one or two online but no information given, just the usual vague Depression glass. Anybody know who made this bowl? Thanks for looking.

MYSTERY SOLVED: Thanks muchly to TallCakes, who IDed this bowl as "Lancaster Glass #767 3-toed rose bowl; sometimes called 'Petal'" ID greatly appreciated!

Why is it called a rose bowl, I wonder?
    5. TallCakes TallCakes, 9 years ago
not sure about why; just these cupped spherical shaped forms are most always called rose bowls, unless on a stem/pedestal when they get called an ivy ball. This glass is called Elegant Glass rather than depression glass as it is hand finished and often has added décor that's etched or cut.

BTW, I have a 3-toed Petal serving/cake plate in yellow.

Share, I noticed that covered candy but have no idea on the maker; but I'll check about a see if something turns up. I'll try to get the plate photographed in the next day or two : )

Thank you TC and thank you too Katherine for letting us use your spot here...sorry! I still love the supreme glass master title :)

LOL@shareurpassion, I wanted to dub him Glass Master Supreme but that sounded too dictatorial, it didn't suit him. Supreme Glass Master is a much better title, it has a gentler, Oriental sensibility. With the first title he'd have to wear a Prussian uni, with the second, yoga pants will do. ;)

TallCakes, thank you for the additional information, perhaps because the bowls are round like the cabbage roses of the day. And thank you for the information about the ivy bowls, and especially for the correct classification of Elegant Glass, rather than Depression. I see these terms slapped on glass with no information as to maker or pattern, that's a sure sign they don't have a clue. I'm trying to learn the differences though some may be too subtle for me. :)

I hope we can expect to see your yellow cake plate soon! I don't think I've seen yellow from you before, just clear and milk glass, and of course, the divine red one. :) And again, thanks so much for your help. :)
