I found this pin in a box of my Mother's. I don't know much about it. I think it is old but really not to sure. It has a little bit of damage. It is marked ITALY on the back. I have looked on the Internet I've seen none the same shape as this. I would like to know when it was made & by who also the value. Any help Identifying it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, this is called micro mosaic, if you look carefully all the different colours are made of tiny bits of glass, yours is a generic tourist piece, but if you google micro mosaic you will see some stunning mosaic's of buildings and temples and also some flowers.
Hope this helps :-)
Hi Susan, Thank you for the information.
I' m fond of Micro Mosaic juwelry and special the very old. The older the piece the smaller the so called tessarae (tiny bids of glass). Even so small that you need a magnifying glass to see whether it is a painting or Micro Mosaic.
Your nice little brooch is a tourist piece made in the beginning of the last century in Italy and probably the value is about € 25 dollar.
Even so small that one has to take a magnitude
