I bought this throw blanket in the mid '90s in Los Angeles at a thrift store. It is wool on a wool or linen warp. The weave is very simple. The colors are natural heather grey , creamy white to light yellow, brown that has a lot of darker brown variation, perhaps natural or dyed over-dyed with black walnut or something like it. The brown is more yellowish than reddish. The red is very bright and the light blue is very soft. It is fragile and has quite a bit of damage. I can't find any similar images online. I was told by an Indian Trade Blanket expert that it might be Mexican, but can't find anything like it. I love the stripes and colors. It has been in storage for a long time, but I've brought it out to enjoy, even if it means that it won't last very long.

The throw blanket is 5' square and has fringe added to the selvages.

I just took a closer look at the fringe and it's obvious that the stripes are the warp and the thread is the warp! I can see the threads wrap around the edges at the selvedge.

reminds me of this saddle blanket here: http://www.housetweaking.com/2014/02/12/the-fruits-of-my-antiquing-adventure/ Still could be Mexican, or native american....?
