    PostCardCo…
    (437 items)

PLEASE ENLARGE AND READ WHAT IT SAYS ON BOX.

"Castle Litho," on front says on it Aacen, Dom- Sudseite
(A different castle litho on back ) or maybe that one is a gigantic cathedral?
My faded pictures do a dis-service to this pretty item!!
Says on front upper title Aechre Aachener LAMBERTZ PRINTEN
The sides have a Big Sun (old school art style)and each side more buildings of-- looks like antiquity. 20 years ago I paid $6.00 and stored it away, just found again. There is a flip open lid, now with some rust where hinge touches the top SIZE of item is 8 " high-by 4 3/4" wide .
SEE FRONT & BACK VIEWS and between them( photo 2) SIDE view. Where is this and what did it hold--Gold finish inside and must have held tea at one time, I get the slight whiff of it ----I think.

I believe it is German and probably had spice or cookies in it. I have a similar one but mine is marked Germany on the bottom and larger different shape. Mine had cookies in it.

Thanks for the help! I am so curious as to these magnificent structures and what they were exactly-- mine says nothing at all on the bottom-- The tin seems to be honoring HENRY LAMBERTZ AACHEN. and also too perhaps HOFLIEF, SR. MAJESTAT d, KONIGS der BELGIER.
Hope I get some more info. Somehow, I can'tpicture this as holding cookies--it is made to last, and heavier than USA tin can containers. maybe a solid "fruitcake"? But if is cookies--that is swell. Wish it was full right now then.

Oh AGH--You are so amazing. This is such a treat for me--laying awake every night for 20 years wondering''What the heck are the pictures on that tin"? ( Hee Hee) but no joke---I DO REALLY WANT TO KNOW--and now I do.
Watch out! Here it comes, BIG HUG!
And OH! MY GOD! Those pictures are beautiful and eyeboggling. MUST be a major tourist attraction.WHY have WE never heard of them before. These places should be on everybody's " bucket list"..Right?It would be a dream come true.

Can you IMAGINE how thrilled the "Boy Scouts" there are, to be allowed to have meetings in such a histiric place! The place was buitlt 6 centuries ago.
This tin was placed in "advertising" tin...and that is not the right place for it. Where should it be?
I want to thank AGH again for devoting time so we all can see this Historic and IMPORTANT piece of German architectures and grounds! Magnificent! I am loving it!!
