Confused & frustrated trying to find the origin of this elephant figural. My mother purchased it many years ago but I am sorry I didn't get the history before her passing. There aren't any markings either to give me any clue where to search. I have spent many hours on the internet but nothing like it appears. Not sure if it is valuable or if she just purchased it because of her love of elephants??? By the way I live in Australia so hope someone can put some light on the history of this little number. Thank you in advance.

This is slip cast porcelain or pottery. I'd suggest either Japanese or German.

But the subject looks like India. Reminds of the the movie "The King and I" 1950s

Its possible that it was made in india. I believe that they consider an elephant with an upwards facing trunk lucky. (please correct me if i'm wrong).

Maybe from "The Jungle Book," Kipling late 1890s, that would be main character "Mowgli"--Story takes place in India sooo , Maybe?
