This smaller end of day piece is about the size of a tumbler, but is probably a vase. It is clear glass with End of Day spatters, but has a gold iridescence all over it. It was pretty cheap so thought I would take a chance on it. I was having a pretty good day so hopefully my luck held out. It's a complete mystery, hopefully someone will have seen something like it and can lend an opinion. Thanks in advance.

5 1/4 inches tall, about the size of a tumbler, but not the right shape for one. An interesting shape.

It strikes me as a tumbler for a lemonade set. A little different shape, but that is what I think it likely is.

For what it is worth, I have a Kralik set and the tumblers are 5.5 inches tall.

I have something similar fishiowa. The general concensus on mine was Czech end of day glass. Is yours a cased piece or just one layer ?? Mine has three. Clear, spatter, and white interior layers. No marks on mine but they said to look for an acid etched mark.

thanks for all the information everyone. I really appreciate it. Looks like just one layer. You can feel the spatters. They are slightly raised. couldn't find any marks.

A fire polished edge and no pontil indicates the use of a snap tool, or "gadget" in production. Although not a decisive indicator of maker, it does have a tendency to rule out some houses such as Kralik, Rindskopf and some others, that are not really known to have used them.

I was looking through some images I have and came across an image from the Skarske Museum at Novy Bor, Czech Republic.

      http://www.kralik-glass.com/images/WelzNovyBor.jpg

The three pieces of glass in this image are identified by the museum as being Welz ca 1915. It struck me that the middle example not only looks like a tumbler, and although the colors are slightly different in the pic, the décor also bears a resemblance to this one. The fact that Welz also used gadgets and this one exhibits the characteristics associated with that technique would point a little towards the possibility that this is Welz production. Not saying it is for sure, simply stating the clues that I see.

Finding this image was kind of unexpected this morning. I knew I had it, but did not remember what was shown in it. I was looking for something else and came across it.

Simply thought it was worth mentioning.

Thanks welzebub for the research and comments. I appreciate the information. I never know what folks might find interesting, especially this little piece. I'm hoping to find some more treasures up here in Minnesota while on vacation, but the pickins' are slim. I'll let everyone know.
