This was the standard bayonet issued to German troops during the war. This bayonet and scabbord have matching serial numbers which is rare. The handle is made of bakelite, an early type of plastic, and the bayonet was made in 1940. The blueing on the blade is 95% intact. This was issued to a Luftwaffe soldier because the carrying frog is brown leather and has Luftwaffe acceptance stamps on the reverse.
