An old wooden hand painted sign 26x60 not issued by oil company but a very nice piece of artwork. Purchased at a charity type farm auction.
The Red Indian design was quite famous in the forties and was a trademark of the McColl Frontenac oil company which was purchased by Texaco.

This sign looks much too well done to be folk art. Some beterr pictures would help, but I'm going to suggest you have this checked out buy an expert, as many signs during the war years were done on wood as there was shortages of metal due to the war effort.
      Any signature or numbers anywhere?
