Any idea what this is, found it while cleaning out a house, I am thinking it might be lead or pewter, but I have no idea, any way I can tell or any at home test, it certainly doesn't ping, too bad, but I would still like to identify it, Thank you!

Lead is the softest. That chunk taken out might indicate that.
Here is a lead bar

Thank you, that mark, which looks like a martini glass, almost looks like something was pressed into the mark to leave it, or maybe it was crudely melted down and made. I know it scratches pretty easy, using a fingernail, so I think you might be right. Great, now I'm getting lead poisoning as we speak.
haha. I think you are safe
This looks like what my father would use to make lead soldiers. He had hunks of something similar with various "melted or cut pieces" in a big wooden box. He also made bullets for muzzle loaders and that also had a similar look.
Don't know if that helps but if it is lead, don't eat it :)
Thanks Amber...you both are probably right, though I'd be lying if I didn't say I was at least hoping it was pewter...instead of a hunk of lead...;)
i really think its my great great grandmas home made bread
