Hi everybody, hope your weekend is going well. I had these blankets in my possession for about 7 years now, I picked them up at yard sales here in Southern California.
The smaller one hand sewn down the middle, many people want it, also the other one machined together in middle.
Why are so many people interested in my blankets ? Is the smaller one a Navajo Churro blanket or both or not at all, Please tell me what you think.

    Thank You, Billy

Can't tell you much about them, except that neither is Navajo or Native American.

Navajo textiles are never woven in two pieces, nor are they woven with fringe on the ends. And the Navajo haven't woven blankets since the late 1800s, when they switched to weaving rugs.

Really ? i seen some on etsy with fringe called Navajo.

On Etsy and on eBay all the time, but that doesn't mean they are correctly identified. There are far more "fake Navajo" rugs on the internet than there are authentic Navajo rugs.

The Navajo are the only Native American tribe that weaves rugs, and their weaving is identified by the way it is woven...on an upright loom with a continuous warp, which means they end up without fringe on both ends, and are woven with four selvedge edges, and no seam in the middle.

I have no idea, only know that they aren't Navajo or Native American.

No I don't think Mexican. Interesting style, might be worth pursuing ID.
