One of my favorites that I got at the estate sale from well yesterday technically since it's 4am now. I think the colors are great. I don't usually buy hat pins but could't pass this one up. Not sure who made it so please comment if you do!! I think the pictures make it look green it's actually turquoise in color and the backing looks gold but it's actually silver tone.

I would estimate it at abotu 2.5 inches or so. I don't have a measuring tape, I should probably invest in one!! I didn't realize there was a difference, just thought people called them different names. Ya learn something new every day!
Yeah, this is a stick or lapel pin. Antique hatpins are a minimum of 4-inches (a child's hatpin) and up to 15-inches long in pinstem length alone. Many areas ended up limiting pinstem length by law so the one's longer than 12-inches are harder to find. The typical length is 7 to 9-inches.
