    I picked this up at an estate sale the other day. i can't find any markings on it, but it definitely has some age to it. i didn't measure it, but it's about 12 inches tall. i'd love to know more about it.

      Looks Chinese but with the fine crackly in the glaze I think Japanese, Maybe a blank sold to be decorated in the US

      i think that fine crackling is the finish on this. a blank wouldn't be glazed in this way - i don't think.

      Hi ho2cultcha, love your jar, it is very similar to one I have in my Ginger Jar collection. It stands about 10.5" high and approx. 27" round in body. It doesn't have markings either, but like yours has little spots and imperfections. Mine however doesn't have any visible crackling, but some very faint "riffs" on the body. Although very simple it has a beautiful visual appeal, I haven't seen one similar until your post. :)
