Vintage Cedar Hope Chest by Lane. Gorgeous wood both inside and out. Great condition. Only "damage" is seen in final picture posted. Beautiful piece with velvet lining on interior shelf.

Thanks! Yea, when browsing through others I didn't see very many with the shelving inside, pretty cool!

Question: I found a Lane cedar chest with laminate similar to or maybe the same as this one. I would like to restore it, but don't know how one would work around/with the laminate. Is it solid cedar under all the laminate? From the inside, mine looks like it is. If so, would it be a sin to just remove the laminate and finish the then exposed cedar on all sides? Thanks for any advice.

I think they would pretty much all be laminate.
