    typewriter…
    (12 items)

The Danish clergyman Hans Rasmus Malling Hansen Hohan (1835 - 1890) patented, in 1870 the first typewriter-produced. Writing ball, as the name, moved up four years at the start of series production of machines Sholes & Glidden, generally considered the first industrially manufactured typewriters.

Rasmus Malling Hansen based the construction of the writng ball in the system of symbols for the deaf (handalphabet) and movements of the hands of pianists: the former could make 12 signs per second and the second play between 20 and 30 marks for second.

One of the most famous owners of the Malling Hansen was the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, who used the last years of his life.

Besides being one of the most beautiful designs of typewriters, now is the most prized piece in any collection of these machines because there remain only thirty copies worldwide.
