This large unmounted gelatin print shows an early view of Indian Motorcycles.

I do not know the model of this particular motorcycle. The image does pre- date 1928 as the back shows "Hendee Manufacturing Co."

A close up of the tank clearly shows the Indian Head symbol of the company along with the Army lettering.

This type of image was most likely sent to be used for publication in a newspaper.

Thanks-- I appreciate your commenting kerry.

The quality of the image is really amazing. Very sharp and crisp focus shows some great details to these early military motorcycles.

It is hard to believe that the image is almost 100 years old!

Those are known as Indian Powerplus bikes. They were produced from 1916 to 1924. I'm thinking they must be 1916 or 1917 being they are military bikes probably produced for WWI. The Hendee Mfg. mark on the back of the picture is the name of the company that produced the bikes. If interested check this out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Powerplus Pretty cool and a really cool photo! Thanks for sharing.

I am truly impressed with the photographer's skills! I may be off the air for a few days because of TS Danny (another of Mother Natures BJ's).
