Bill was the VP of advertising for Gluek's (prounounced GLIX-as in the sound it made when poured from the bottle.Thus-the "beer that speaks for itself) in Minneapolis for a decade. He saved one of everything,it seemed. His estate sale was in February, and I arrived before 1 AM to get in line for the 9AM sale.I was No. 3 in line!

This was truly a treasure trove of breweriana, and better yet,DOCUMENTATION that connected the dots regarding logo and ad campaigns. The best part of this was the paperwork.Hand written notes, field tests and trials, which characters were used during certain years and months...even Bill's resume, photo and experience were in here.

I've since mounted some of the advertising into nice frames and by year. The lightly folded trolley car posters flattened out nicely using a vacuum mount table, pressing them onto foam core board. The tragedy is,he THREW OUT 80% of his archives two years before this sale was held.I'm just glad I have this.

    Was the stuff cheap?

90 each on the glasses (I'd have paid double that,no problem) 35 on the tie,the character signs were 75 each (x 3)

I dropped a grand and carried out a box that was 24 x 18. A once in a lifetime opportunity to get this stuff.Much of it was the only known examples that I know of.
