This is a tiny little Silver pin made by WMF, it measures 2 . 8 by 1.0 and weighs 1.9 grams. It was made in the 1930s, Art Deco period. I have a few things made by WMF 2 bracelets and 3 Myra necklaces. What caught my eye with this pin is the glass forget me not in the middle, the colours are very vivid and you notice it straight away. It is marked silver but doesn't have a makers mark. I would like to ask a question to Jewels1900, do you think this pin is the work of WMF.
    Many thanks for looking

      So pretty too!
The center is a foil glass peacock eye :-)

The style makes me wonder if the brooch could have been made of two old (Victorian/Georgian?) silver pieces (clips/part of a bracelet?) put together and decorated with the beautiful glass centerpiece?

Is there a source you would recommend for learning more about WFM?

Hi davyd, I have a few more WFM things on my site. Both Jewels1900 and Bluboi have made comments on WFM you might find interesting. There really isn't very must on the web, I suppose it's been updated so you might find information, I hope that helps.

Would a German company have the word "sterling" on it?

At the moment I have found several pieces which were made in Germany I decided to put this fish which as a sterling marked on it. I know the UK would not allow 800 silver to be imported into the country. The likes of Murrle Bennett and other jewellery makers made their silver sterling and had them Hallmarked in the UK. I'll look into it more tomorrow, it's a interesting question.
