I love vintage Easter so I picked these up at a garage sale hoping they are authentic. But I've exhausted my internet research skill.

    Can anybody help?

Around the time of WW11, I had a doll like this in a red chaneille (sp.) suit, blond hair (yarn) peeping under the hood hat at face. I named her Helen and took her everywhere , even on a long train ride. I have been searching for her all my long life!!

They are authentic . Called mask face dolls . Faces are made of celluloid and oil cloth was common to use as well as vinyl . Now these did come in buy just face and and pattern for body also . So they may or may not be factory but bodies made at home . Either way they are real and date around 1940-50's . Very cute :-)

You are such a sweetheart manikin!!! THAT IS VERY CLOSE. mY DOLL GOT WET JUST BEFORE ONE OF OUR TRAIN RIDES AND MY MOM KNEW IT WOULD BE A TRIP FROM HELL WITHOUT HER--SO SHE PUT HER IN THE OVEN TO DRY. AND HER FACE WRINKLED UP. sHE LOOKED LIKE SOMETHING FROM A HORROR MOVIE BUT i DIDN'T CARE--MY MOTHER WAS THE MOST humiliated IN HER LIFRE FOR ME CARRYING that AROUND. hA hA! AND i DIDN'T SEE HER AFTERWARDS. i NEVER CARRIED ANY OTHER DOLL OR PLAYED WITH ONE AGAIN. i ONLY WANTED "hELEN" Sorry for the caps---my vision very bad this morning, and I just got out of the hospital yesterday--More heart surgery coming up.

Postcard I will keep searching for one in red . Their faces are made of celluloid and is flammable it was banned in early 50's . Sorry to hear about your needing to go back to hospital :-( I will surely keep you in my prayers and I understand about eyesight . I use the ctrl key on pc while pressing it down hit the + sign your font and others will show up very large te longer you hold the + use the minus same way ctrl plus the - minis reduces size .
