THIS LITTLE UNIT STILL RUNS ALTHOUGH A LITTLE SLOW. THERE IS ANOTHER SET OF BRUSHES IN THE BOX. THE BOX ITSELF IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE MODEL NO ON THIS IS 117-4102. I'VE LOOKED BUT CAN FIND NO INFO ON WHEN THIS WAS MADE. DEFINITLY GOT A FEW YEARS ON IT.

Based on the model number you have given, the rotary tool was manufactured in the late 1950's or early 1960's. The all metal power tools were phased out by the 1970's. At that time craftsman power tools were made by Black-Decker for Sears. later on most of the craftsman hand power tools were made by Ryobi.
