I have had this now for about 2 years, always wondered who made it.
Looks black to the eye then held to the sun looks purple, any ideas on who made this ?

L.E. Smith Glass Company of Mount Pleasant, PA made a lot of this "Black Amethyst" Glass with Silver Banding. They called it simply "Black" glass but collectors call it Black Amethyst glass because of the Purple colour seen when held to light. This particular vase by L.E. Smith was made early 1930's and was their No. 710/4 vase. It should measure 6" in height. RER(BOB)
