    Found this plier like tool made of brass, bronze, or possibly beryllium. These are 10" long have a fairly stiff spring to keep the tool closed. The round knob is held on with a screw.

      This one was solved some time ago, (not by me), and determined to be a set of fireman's sprinkler tongs. This re-post link is for the benefit of the new members, scratching their heads.
