This ash star belonged to my husband's grandmother who would have been 105 this year. She was not a smoker and it was an item of which she took great care. However, she and her husband were tobacco growers their whole lives together in North Carolina. Now it's my turn to treasure it.

I noticed that auto-correct stepped in above. In case you're confused, it's an ashtray not an ash star, haha!

I would have said earlier, by the single word Japan, and also the border design on the ashtray, and the colors. Pre-20s? It's a beautiful work of art. :)
