i found this piece at Goodwill today. i think it's another goofus glass piece, i think. is this stuff still being produced? it looks to be in such good condition that it makes me wonder if it isn't new. it was very dirty though. it sure looks cool!

No, it's not Goofus Glass but S.E.Asian glass that is still sold in the Winners-HomeSense stores. I suppose that the fired-on decoration on the back of the plates/bowls, usually in Silver or Gold is somewhat similar to the method used to make Goofus glass in the early 1900's. I saw this particular bowl with the same design with a gold backing last week at a flea market. They're actually great looking items. BOB
