The detail on this vase is quite extraordinary. Possibly dated to the Meiji period (1868 - 1912).

What I've made out of the bottom mark so far is:

top row (right to left): Dai Nippon (Great Japan)
    right (top to bottom): Satsuma-yaki

The rest of the marks are likely who painted it, kiln where it was made, region where it was made, etc. I can't translate them though.

    Height: 17"
    Width: 11"

    Unsolved Mystery

I would take a guess and say Japanese. The religious connotations are interesting.

@vetraio50 is the 3rd image how it's supposed to be? I really wish I could read Japanese/Chinese so I can at least get the orientation right :)

I still have no idea what the bottom marks mean, but I *think* (in the 3rd image) the top line, right to left is "dai nippon".

      The third pic is correct.
A Japanese speaker will recognize it.
You're right about the first line ....

There are some examples of these more complicated marks there ... Check out Choshuzan 592.

In my search I found a few more helpful sites. They didn't help me figure out the rest of the characters, but they have lots of marks to look at.

@vetraio50 - Choshuzan 1267 looks a lot like this vase.

I think the right side bottom 3 kanji characters is "Satsuma-yaki".

I think the rest of the marks are names and I haven't been able to track them down yet.

It's all a learning process .... you have already learnt so much .... I'm really impressed with what you've turned up so far. I think this is a special piece. The surrounding decoration of cube devices is surely reserved for special pieces. You might need to seek out expert advice on this one.

      1 symbol i don,t know , probably dementia i think , i think a sort of grammar reference to a direct object

it reads dai nippon Satsuma yaki Gyokuenzan Shozan and ? ( suffix ?)

mid section vertical bottom 3 = Gyokuenzan

      this is Meijji
