I have owned this beautiful picture for many years and know very little about it but do believe it was produced mid 1700's to early 1800's. The most tiniest little beads have been sewn onto the canvas to produce the necklace which seems to be a cross and the same small beads have also been sewn around the corners of the book which I believe to be a bible. I purchased this on ebay after falling head over heels in love with the calm image of such beauty and love of God. I would love to understand where this beautiful lady came from and what period her clothes are. Any information would be so gratefully received.

Melody I think this needs to be seen by a specialist in textiles to help date it.
