The cool Lakeside Storage 1942 White Half Track has a young driver offering a ride to a peer. She isnt really impressed but accepts the ride. A look at both the P-51 Mustang on the pole with the Half Track in the foreground is awe inspiring for old guys like me.

Your boy has good taste! The Lakeside Storage Museum is designed to excite the imaginations of old people that remember WWII, as well as our kids and grandkids that know very little about the war or what was being fought for. Bringing "life" to the olden days helps our future youth get some perspective by asking questions. They see "Clark Kent" in a phone Booth and ask what that little box is & why he's changing clothes in it as they've never seen a phone booth before. We try and stimulate questions and asking lots of them. Those that stop asking stop learning!

I know that museums & a few people actually have them as I know a few people that collect Military stuff that have them but I still say: "who has one of these" because so few people even know what they are let alone own one. They are getting sort of rare anymore.
u can buy a surplus book and find them being sold by folks who fell out of love with them and drove the to the end of there driveways and put a mailbox on the hood ...lol a lot of police forces have them under lock and key in many state for what reason I haven't a clue... but u should of bought two or three of them and run them back and forth to town as a bus line ...smiling ...most young folks don't know who the VP is much less a half track. Such is life... cute grand kids.

Yes I have seen a few Junkers that have been stripped as I have looked for parts and armor for ours, but most have all the good stuff gone already and the guys that advertise online want a fortune for their stuff so we plan on just getting lucky with time in finding the right armor bed, windshield cover, doors, etc. to date no one has mentioned that it has a Dodge dump bed on it nor that it's missing the armor in places. They don't know what it is anyway. It'll help when we mount the 50 cal in the bed. Maybe then it will get attention? I would love to buy a couple more of them but they are heavy to transport and too expensive around here. The numbers don't work to put this stuff in the Free museum we have, unless we get a great deal or just cant live without it.

I have no problem understanding what you’re saying we are all looking for a great deals or a sleeper ….The Wrights sell a newspaper there for a few bucks and it has every one who has to do with military surplus …send then a e - mail or call and have then send you one . you’ll like it I think and it will help you find what you’re looking for I believe …good luck .

Yep we have a few bad guys and a lot of govt that is waaaaay out of control trying to control all 350,000,000 of us and treating th good guys like bad guys and doing little to the bad guys? Tax to workers and give it to the slugs? Oh well. Life is good and we are blessed and we have fun collecting the stuff from our past.
