    I got this off ebay last week. Although unsigned, this is a very obvious piece of Awaji. the rattan basketry is pretty common, as is the unusual texture of the piece. it's probably from 1910-1925.

      this is my new favorite piece of Awaji in my growing collection. it is a relatively large bowl at 8" across.

      I love this... Wonderful colour and texture!!..the lovely warm soft golden brown of the rattan really sets the green off...very nice!..:-)
