This cap was introduced in 1943, and was widely used by soldiers when not wearing their helmet. The cap is made of wool and the side flaps could be pulled down and buttoned under the chin for protection from the cold. The insignia consists of two seperate pieces, the Luftwaffe eagle and the national colors roundel. The interior is lined with artificial silk and has the manufacturers RBN number for security.
