What a great bowl this is! This pattern was designed by James D. Bergen and patented May 29, 1894. The patent was good for just over three years. This patten was a numbered pattern, but was given the name "White Rose" in the 1960s. According to J. Michael Pearson's book, "Encyclopedia of American and Engraved Glass, Volume 1," it is stated on page 98, that "Very few pieces were cut in this beautiful but comparatively simple, easily recognizable pattern. Anything in this design is a collector's item." I agree! The blank is water white. This is a low bowl that is 8" in diameter. The last picture shows the exact bowl in Pearson's book.
