I believe these are Mother of Pearl earrings, silver clip-on. The photos were hard to get and the best I could do at the moment. The markings are VI54 and the other is 800.
I found a site that states this mark, although it's 54 VI, would that be the same? Here's a link:

My question is, am I at the wrong place? It is backward after all.

Thanks for the loves Mani and kyra. I tried to take better photos and put the results up here- of course I had my 'house' jeans on, I was painting earlier and this photo is the only one that came out somewhat decent.
I always thought the markings were both oval and now I see that they are different. That puts a whole new spin on it.

Poland or Italy ?
The same mark was used in Italy but 54 VI (not vice versa,i.e.cannot be VI 54).
Poland mark of this form was used 1963- 1986 (Woman's head facing right,letter on the left indicating town (W for Warsaw,K for Krakow),number on the right (1,2,3 or 4) denoting fineness.Better close up of the marks is needed.
