    would like to know what this could be ,it does have ruler markings up to 60 inches thank you for any details about it

      Looks like you have an old table saw miter gage, with a stop block extension that was added on to it.

      I would agree but wonder if the attachment might be a tapering jig in that it is calibrated to 60".
