Very fine and unusual tres Victorian 14K sold Gold Pocket Watch retailed by Ira G. Blake & Sons Worcester, Mass. Blake & Sons was a high end jewelry store in Worcester and central Mass. Blake was also involved with the early years of the Waltham Watch Co. and directly involved with the formation and establishing of the Elgin Watch Co. These names make for a very interesting timepiece, even though Msr. Blake most probably didn't have much to do with the actual construction of the watch he and his company certainly did design the watch and had the Case made to order and fitted the V&C mov't into it. Fantastic drum style Lids with raised beads and polished flat surfaces in between to highlight the deeply engraved lids. Deep coin edge Case body and typical Victorian Pendant with more beading and fabulous Victorian style initials emblazoned on the back cover make for one outstanding Watch. High quality glazed porcelain enamel Dial emblazoned with the name Ira G. Blake & Sons Worcester, Mass. embellished with fine blued steel Hands speak of a time when quality and beauty in a simple timepiece was a common sight.
