      Possibly Indonesia or the Philippines. If the wood is very solid, then it could be either teak or mahogany.

      Not teak I don't think. Grain & colour are wrong.

      Rose comes closest with that example. Problem is, that identifying wood in pix is almost impossible when dealing with all the diff. woods available all over the world. Diff. lighting doesn't help in pix. Burl is not a species of tree, but a knotty growth that forms on roots. trunks etc. of many species. Without an expert in wood colour & grain from diff. areas, it is probably easier to eliminate what you know it isn't & then narrow it down to the last 30+ that it can possibly be. My guess would be an African wood based on subject matter & possibly colour. Also, burls do not necessarily represent the colour & grain of the host tree. The answer is: ? The diff. names of woods is like trying to learn every dialect of every language.
