George Jones??

My mother-in-law recently passed away and we found this piece in her house when we were clean it out. My wife said she can remember it sitting at her grandma’s house. Anyone have any information on what this might be called? We believe it may be an early piece from George Jones. Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.
