This is some sort of medical instrument, but we're not sure exactly what. It is marked "Sharp & Smith" on one handle and McKinn(cant read he rest) on the other handle. The tongs on the end swivel 180 degrees. I have looked at hundreds of pictures and see many instruments that are similar but I don't see anything exactly like these. Is there a reason why I see so many similar but not this exact thing? Thank you in advance for any information you might have about this instrument.
These have a sinister look & hope they aren't OB-GYN! LOL! Having been thru open heart, I wonder if they used something like this?

That's probably what they had my chest held open with while they played handball with my ticker in Martinique. Don't want to leave the wrong impression, as Martinique is one of the world renowned heart specialist centers & I received excellent care. Can't praise them any better!
