I have a Martin acoustic made by Samick. Nothing wrong with a Samick made guitar from what I've played.

Ur welcome. Funny, I just bought a Washburn DL64...4 weeks ago. I really like the look of your base. That wood grain is fantastic. Nothing wrong with Washburn in my books.

I believe it was 'designed' by Grover Jackson for Washburn. Actual production likely occurred at Samick in an unknown country. They have several facilities to produce instruments of all types. From what I've just researched, some XB500's where made in the US, but I believe it would say made in usa on the guitar. It's felt online the S in your serial number refers to Samick. The following number is the year. Your 7 is '97.
