Picked this up last Sunday at a really great market. Looks to me like a Welk shell. Somebody went to a bit of trouble to create this pendant. The metal tests as silver, so I am assuming it's sterling silver. When worn on a chain, the opening faces the body. Rather clever.

There's a lot of seashell jewelry around here, Bonnie, most is costume, gold colored settings, this one is very different from those. Lovely shell! :)
