This is another flea market find from many years ago. This statue is quite large. The white pigeon has been off at one time and was glued back on rather well. A few small dings, but otherwise in good shape. There is an impressed mold number and also impressed "CHINA". Same marks which are on my lovely green duck, which can be found in my listings.
Seems to me that the items coming from China during that era were of a much higher quality than the rubbish I see out now.

    Thanks for looking, CW friends!

      What a pretty set, Bonnie!

I'm of two minds. I think some of the stuff from China was dreck and some was wonderful back then, and it's still the same thing now, some dreck, some wonderful. I guess it goes to the maker, not to the land of origin, but perhaps someone can make a more general statement as to overall quality.

I totally agree with you Katherine.
The Chinese will make anything to any standard requested or desired, so if we want cheap we get cheap. Their artisans are still able to make exquisite things. I see this often in their glass; some is awful, most is pretty good, some is exceptional!
