This 5 1/2" tall red pottery vase is over 110 years old and is a fine example of the ART NOUVEAU movement of the late 1890's and the decor of which is more often seen in Glass Vases of this period. The vase has a dark brown outer decoration with three handle-like ribs that create three panels in which tall stemmed flowers reach all the way to the rim. I'm not sure what the flowers are. This pottery vase is unmarked and I would love to know who could have made it and where.......any ideas? RER

Really beautiful object. The flowers remind me of freesias. On my monitor it looks like a lovely silvery gray colour.
Hi Gillian! Thank you for your comments. They do look like freesias. Although it looks a bit silver gray, it is because of the lighting. The colour is actually a dark brown. RER
