This is an antique letter press/stamping set that I picked up at an antique market in Paris, France. It says "Paul Pechfur Fabricant *Paris* " on the inside of the box. It has 2 adjustable stamps that are meant for 2 different sizes of metal number blocks. Each number and size has 4 blocks. Any additional information on this would be great!

Is the type made of lead or brass, or maybe even pot metal? Are they petrified rubber? Any markings on the type holders or the type itself? Check the letter "M".

I just noticed -- only numerals. Nevermind on checking M. My other questions stand.

      I'm Pretty Sure they're pewter?
