A fabulous pair of very tall Fritz Heckert vases c1890.
Beautifully decorated with thick enamelling... a pensive fair maiden (well maybe not so fair :) on rich gold background surrounded by stylistic flowers on a clear green satin iridescent body...
Ladybugs all hiding under the flared shaped rim just waiting for an unsuspecting tasty bug to come along!
Sorry! not sure of the flowers but I am sure Michelle will be able to tell me..
Both stand approx...34.5cm or 13. 1/2 inches tall

inky, I just have to say that these are truly amazing. I saw the original photos, but yours show so much more detail! I love, love the little lady bugs that are hidden until you look under the rim, and the maidens have such a wonderful of-the-period look to them! Just beautiful. The flowers I would say are closest to Ornithogalums, but the leaves aren't, and the flower petal counts vary, so how about just a lovely fantasy depiction? :) You have the EYE, inky!! :)

My favourite part about these vases are the ladybugs hiding under the rim also Michelle!..thank you for help on the flowers, pretty fantasy flowers I'm happy with and also the compliments...:-)
