Maybe 1980s?
These were alongside another pair which were identical, other than the color and the fact that the other pair looked like they'd been long ago "clacked" to death.
The white plastic ring just has "MOD. DEP." (registered design) printed on it.
I know that the truly vintage ones were made of Lucite. This pair is made from a very tough plastic, and they "clack" great! LOL

We played with these when we were youngsters, I can't recall being afraid of them, but probably should have been if I had any common sense, lol! Nice buy, Bonnie! :)
I never had any until this past Thursday....LOL! I love 'em, and they are orange - the national color of Dutch royalty!
