Metal Base is 6" x 3 1/2" and 12" in height. Appears to be a Japanese Geisha (Porcelain?) dancing along with a Jade Tree of some sort…. Other than that…. Nothing is known about it? Any help in identifying it would be great…. Thanks….

This is high quality lost wax molded composition or resin. The lady, from features, dress, and hair style is Chinese. The base is likely not metal, but also composition. The use of both ivory and jade colored resin together is unusual. This was probably made in Italy sometime after 1950 and there may be an impressed mark on the base. If so, it would be very interesting to see it. This can be done by using the edit feature on the left and replacing one of existing photos. Cheers, Val

Wexval, Thank you very much for the insight as to what this piece is or may be. There is a mark at the base on the back of the woman’s dress. I did delete one photo and substituted one where the mark is more pronounced. Thanks again!

Sepdave, thanks for responding to my request. That mark is a fantasy artist signature and part of the molding. I have a smaller (5 1/2 inch) figure of a Chinese scholar with exactly the same mark, but reversed 180 degrees. Sorry I was not clear above. What I would like to see is any mark on the bottom of the black base. Thanks again, Val

      Hi Val...

I can only wish there was another mark anywhere on this item. Looked all over without success. Thanks again! :-)
