The only info I know about this trunk is it was in my grandmothers house. My mom said she remembers her grandparents having a trunk but isn't sure if it's the same trunk. We used it as a treasure chest for a pirate party and have now brought it home. It did not have a key, upon googling I was able to find one and am waiting on it to arrive. I am just curious as to its date seeing as we have little info to go on.

How did you find a key for it? I thought you'd need to know a few things about the trunk in order to get the correct key.

I googled the maker of the lock which is eagle lock company. I found a website that had a bunch of keys and it said the correct key number may be stamped on the lock itself. Which it was and I googled eagle lock company and the key number and I found a few b

Semperfiohana, this is a really nice packing trunk from about the 1880s or 1890s. I have one very similar that I restored a few years ago. click the link to see my packing trunk.

If you want to know some information on the maker, you could go to hmsantiquetrunks.com Mr. Jim Cardoza, the owner of HMSantiquetrunks has nearly every trunk make listed on his site. You could probably contact him through his site and he could help you further.
      good luck!!
